WHO WE ARE Educational Playcare was established in 1986, to provide full and part-time childcare and educational programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We are proud of our reputation for providing the highest quality programs for children that can be found anywhere. We've maintained this standard with the quality control that comes from being small and owner operated. However, despite our relatively small size, we offer all of the benefits of the large "corporate" chains. Over the past twenty years we have constantly expanded our programs and today in addition to our childcare services, we've added nursery school, full day kindergarten, school-age programs and a wonderful summer camp program. Over the past 21 years it has been our privilege to provide services to thousands of families. In truth, we never dreamed that we would eventually come full circle, as more than a few of our "babies" have come back to work for us and help nurture the next generation. PLAY IS THE WORK OF CHILDREN Today, the importance of the early childhood experience, starting from infancy, and its relation to future success in life is universally understood. It wasn't nearly so when we began over twenty years ago. When we originally selected the name "Educational Playcare", it was with our understanding of the importance of play to learning, and the importance of providing a nurturing, secure, joyful and stimulating environment. Children learn through direct experience. We believe that this direct experience is most positively gained through play, for play is the work of children. It is through play that children develop concepts about themselves and the world around them. Our goal is to provide the ideal environment that supports the "work" of children.
