Wallingford

Overview
Educational Playcare school in Wallingford opened its doors on North Plains Industrial Road in 2012. The center is situated on the corner of Rt. 15 and Rt. 68, making it a convenient location for nearby residents and for people who drive by for work. This beautiful and spacious center has had several upgrades to create a center with every conceivable childcare benefit in mind.

Our center in Wallingford is a spacious state-of-the-art facility. As you drive into our parking lot, you will notice that there is plenty of free parking space for our parents, allowing for easy drop off and pick up. The center consists of 19 oversized classrooms. Outside, there are a total of eight large playgrounds, each oriented toward a specific age group. The two large playgrounds that you’ll see as you drive in provide an extensive play area for our preschool children.

Security
Our school’s entranceway is secured by a pin-activated security system. The outdoor play area doors also have the same security feature. Each family is provided with a unique pin code in order to enter the main entrance. This has been implemented to ensure maximum security and safety of the children. In addition, each classroom, playground, and indoor play area has at least one security camera which allows our Directors to continuously monitor activities throughout the center. We also have “panic buttons” which link us directly to the local police department in the event of an emergency.

Interior Features
As you walk in through our main entrance, you will enter our bright and spacious lobby, designed to be both fun and comforting, encouraging children to look forward to coming to school each day. The slideshow of photos of happy children, and the soothing music, and our enormous aquarium create a calm and pleasant atmosphere that both parents and children find delightful. There’s also complimentary coffee and tea for parents and a “lending library” where families may choose books to borrow.

On both sides of our reception area are spacious hallways that take you to our oversized classrooms. As you walk to the hallway on the right, you will see our bright red buggies parked outside the classrooms. These allow our infant and younger toddlers to get outside for fresh air and a change in scenery. The classrooms have been designed by keeping the needs of infants and toddlers in mind. Each room has massive windows on the inside and outside; providing plenty of sunlight and a great view for the children to enjoy. Each door has a glass window as well, allowing teachers and parents to be able to ensure that no child is behind a door as they are opened or closed.

Down the left hallway are our preschool classrooms. They are all significantly oversized, providing much more than the minimum requirements for CT classrooms. Each of these rooms are divided into several activity centers that include science, math, music and movement, construction, literacy, and dramatic play. All of these centers are available to the children throughout each day.

We also have a professional kitchen which allows us to provide nutritious and child-friendly lunches and snacks to our children each day.

As you will walk around the hallways you will come across the unique feature that only our Wallingford center has. There are indoor gardens in both hallways. Here we plant small plants and vegetables, teaching children about nature and how plants grow. Another great thing about these small gardens are the skylights that are right above them. These skylights add beautiful views of the sky and great natural light to the hallways.

Exterior Features
Educational Playcare in Wallingford has a total of eight playgrounds, each one unique to a specific age group. Our outdoor play areas are unbelievable! Playscapes, a huge wooden boat-shaped climber, slides and swings, sand boxes, and a huge inflatable bounce house (the children’s favorite) just to name a few! There is also plenty of shade under the many trees in our play grounds. Parents and children frequently enjoy sitting on the benches to take in the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors. The infants and younger toddlers have four playgrounds designed specifically for young children who are still crawling or learning to walk. Each playground is designed and gated for the safety of our children.
