OUR PROGRAMS - school age At present, we are only providing a school age program at our Avon location. We expect to begin comprehensive programs in Simsbury and Windsor in the Fall of 2007. With each subsequent year we've continuously augmented the program. Today, by a wide margin, our school-age program is the finest around. Besides our regular playground area, children have supervised use of the adjoining athletic field, nature trails and the fishing pond located in the back of the building. If your child has a more creative side, our second floor offers a cathedral ceilinged, fully equipped art studio and art teacher. And there's more ... they'll love being there! The EPC School Age program is its own "neighborhood". There's always something to do ... and someone to do it with. The same type of experience that we value from our childhoods, and better. General Program Criteria Transportation from all Avon and Simsbury schools For children in grades K through 6th Nutritious hot and cold snacks provided Open for snow days, school vacations and early dismissals Daily activities vary, but include sewing, cooking, woodworking, science & nature, and instructional athletics Facilities The first floor has a large open activity area, a computer and library room, kitchen area, and a quiet homework room.    The second floor is bright and spacious and generally is used as a dedicated art studio, however, it also doubles as a very scary haunted house during Halloween and a staging area for various "kid-produced" productions.   Staff   Mr. Al Coxon oversees the school age programs. In addition to having a B.A. in Recreation Management from UConn, he is also Head Teacher certified by the State of CT.   Mrs. Elizabeth Marek assists Al in managing the school age program. She has a B.A. in Art Education from Southern CT State University.
