Preschool and Child Care in Berlin
Also Serving Families in New Britain, Newington & Surrounding Communities
In March of 2015, we opened a new state of the art childcare center in Berlin at 9 High Road, just around the corner from Exit 24 off of Route 9. Our Berlin school reflects all of the positive components we have learned about early childhood education over more than 30 years of providing exceptional childcare services.
Our center in Berlin is a beautiful facility with oversized classrooms. As you drive in, you will be welcomed by a large Educational Playcare sign along with our colorful landscaping. The center also offers plenty of free parking spaces for parents for easy drop-off and pick-up. The classrooms benefit from wonderful natural lighting and colorful interior features. Outside, the four spacious playgrounds at the back of the building provide an extensive play area for the children, providing them with ample space to enjoy the outdoors while developing their large muscle skills.
When you arrive at our front doors, you’ll notice that an access code is required in order to enter the building. Each family and staff member is issued their own unique code. In addition, security cameras in each classroom and play area allow our Directors to continuously monitor activities throughout the school. We also have panic button that link us directly to the local police department in the event of an emergency.
As you walk through our front door, you will be welcomed by a large and bright reception area. Here you will be greeted by our Director and Assistant Director and offered a complimentary cup of coffee or tea. Behind the front desk is our “Car Seat Port”, where parents can leave their child’s car seat or carrier each day for convenience.
Walking through the corridors, you will notice our beautiful and brightly lit classrooms. All of our classrooms were designed to be very child-centered, right down to the tiniest detail. One thing you might not notice, but certainly our infants and toddlers do, are the decorative light panels. Young children are always looking up and these provide a far better view than harsh fluorescent lighting.
Our classrooms are enormous, and provide much more space than the minimum requirements for Connecticut classrooms. Each one is divided into activity centers that range from Science and Math, to Music and Movement, and from Building and Construction to Literacy and Dramatic Play.
In the center of the school, you will find an amazing room. We call it “The Village”. In addition to being a wonderful play area for children to use when the weather won’t allow us to go outside, it also provides children with opportunities to use their imaginations in countless ways. We also use it for our Arts and Enrichment classes.
We have a professional kitchen too. Parents love that we provide nutritious lunches as well as two snacks each day and the menu is very child friendly!
Our Berlin center has four outdoor playgrounds. Each area was designed to support a specific age group. The older children’s playground consists of swings, slides, a playscape, and a huge inflatable bounce house – the children’s favorite! The younger children’s outdoor play areas are covered with turf to provide a safe and comfortable substrate for children who are still crawling or learning to walk.
We are in the process of adding over 7,000 square feet of outdoor play space to the existing playground area which will triple it! Once construction is complete, we will have several more beautiful playgrounds with even more equipment for climbing, building, riding, and more!
