Preschool and Child Care in Ellington
Also Serving Families in Somers, Enfield, Tolland & Surrounding Communities
In April of 2018, we opened a new state of the art school in Ellington at 137 West Road. Our Ellington school reflects all of the positive components we have learned about early childhood education over more than 30 years of providing exceptional child care services. Our center in Ellington is a beautiful facility with oversized classrooms. As you drive in, you will be welcomed by a large Educational Playcare sign along with our colorful landscaping. The center also offers plenty of free parking spaces for parents for easy drop-off and pick-up. The classrooms benefit from wonderful natural lighting and colorful interior features. Surrounding the building are spacious playgrounds, providing the children with ample space to enjoy the outdoors while developing their large muscle skills.
When you arrive at our front doors, you’ll notice that our building can only be accessed by using our facial recognition system. Each family and staff member are entered into the system on their first day. In addition, security cameras in each classroom and play area allow our Directors to continuously monitor activities throughout the school. We also have strategically placed panic buttons that link us directly to the local police department in the event of an emergency.
As you walk through our front door, you will be welcomed by a large and bright reception area. Here you will be greeted by our Director and offered a complimentary cup of coffee or tea. In the lobby you will also find our interactive duck pond. The children love to feed the ducks and watch them swim around. Outside our infant classrooms, you’ll find our “Car Seat Ports,” where parents can leave their child’s car seat or carrier each day for convenience. Walking through the corridors, you will notice our beautiful and brightly lit classrooms. All of our classrooms have been designed to be very child-centered, right down to the tiniest detail. Our classrooms are enormous and provide much more space than the minimum requirements for Connecticut classrooms. Each one is divided into activity centers that range from Science and Math, to Music and Movement, and from Building and Construction to Literacy and Dramatic Play. Towards the rear of the school, you will find our large indoor play room. It provides the children a place to play even when the weather won’t allow us to go outside. We have a professional kitchen, too. Parents love that we provide nutritious lunches, as well as two snacks each day, and the menu is very child friendly!
Outside, the school is surrounded by eleven infant/toddler playgrounds and one large preschool playgrounds. Our outdoor play areas are unbelievable. Our infants and younger toddlers have one playground designed specifically for young children who are still crawling or learning to walk. Each playground is designed and gated for the safety of our children.
Additionally, our beautiful koi pond, complete with a waterfall, provides a lovely space for children and families to enjoy a quiet moment.
